Weddings

As an ordained clergy, Cantor Eskenasy is officially licensed to conduct wedding ceremonies anywhere.  She has officiated weddings in Illinois, New York, where she is specially licensed,  Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and even Mexico!  Sanctifying the union of bride and groom is a very serious responsibility which she does not take lightly. Cantor Miriam works closely with couples creating customized ceremonies be they more traditional or egalitarian, creating happy memories for the bride and groom, their families and friends.

She also brings interfaith couples to the chuppa being sensitive to the traditions of both faiths.  The fun begins with the breaking of the glass!  Mazal tov!

The birth of a new child is always a blessing. Cantor Eskenasy is happy to welcome your newborn into the Jewish community officiating  meaningful ceremonies in your home or the synagogue.  She can even help you find a Hebrew name for your child!  Cantor Eskenasy brings her warmth and extensive knowledge of Jewish traditions to these age-old Jewish ceremonies, making them memorable for all.  

 

Funerals

Cantor Miriam conducts Jewish funerals and shiva services following a funeral, to honor the deceased with sustaining sensitivity to the living.  She works closely with families, providing comfort and solace to the grieving, to create meaningful funeral, memorial or unveiling  services that honor the memory of the deceased and meet the wishes of the family.  She brings her exceptional people skills and kindliness as she listens to the family talk about their departed loved one and shapes Jewish ritual around the dignity of the dead and the living.
